Amo l'italia

Oh Italy.

Amo l'italia

From breathtaking art, delicious food, stunning countryside, the tale of Romeo and Juliet, to high-end fashion... Italy has it all!

Fashion With A Mission's first set of handmade earrings, and headbands made a special trip to the beautiful country of Italy, all thanks to my darling best friend Kelsie Pascual who is enjoying a fabulous two-week tour throughout the cities of Rome, Naples, Assisi, Venice, Verona, Florence, and the island of Capri.

Some of the accessories that were made especially for Kelsie:

Pretty, aren't they? In addition to these earrings, there were also bow headbands and bow clips.

Miss Kelsie made a generous donation of
$20.00 to add on to our FWM Funds.

Grazie mille!!!

Pretty Bow Earring... SOLD!

Fashion with a Mission sold its first set of handmade ribbon earrings online, at Etsy.com

I sent a personal thank you to the buyer, Jasely from California, letting her know that her purchase is going towards a very good cause.

The profit of your purchase will go towards the Japan Relief Funds of Fashion With a Mission, my non-profit organization focusing on making a difference in the world through fashion. The earthquake and tsunami devastation in Japan truly broke my heart, and every dollar I profit on my creations will be added towards this Relief Fund.

The earrings were sold for $2.00

Jasely responded,

"I can't wait to receive my earrings and I'm glad I'm helping Japan. You are doing a great job!! "

This is such a great feeling.

Girl's Guide to Going Green

Being eco-friendly is becoming more popular. The green initiative is a cultural and environmental phenomenon that is helping save the earth by using earth-friendly products such as organic cotton, bamboo, flax and hemp, some examples of biodegradable products. The consumption of eco-friendly food such as those that are organically grown encourage the use of a production process that do not use pesticides that can harm your health or the planet's health. Below are some examples on how to appreciate Mother Earth by eating, wearing and living green!

*Replace lightbulbs with CFL lights as they are more energy efficient and lasts longer than regular lightbulbs
*Use eco-friendly canvas shopping bags (plastic bags take 1,000 years to decompose and paper bags kills 14 million trees a year)
*Buy local produce
*Recycle cans, bottles, and paper products
*Eat organically grown food, less meat and wild fish (rather than farm-raised fish)
*Use natural cleaning products than chemical cleaners
*Pay bills online and reduce paper mail bulk
*Buy recycled products
*Use reusable water bottle instead of buying water bottle
*Save water (take shorter showers, use low-flow showerheads, water plants in the evening, etc)
*Plant a tree
*Celebrate Earth Day!
