Girl's Guide to Going Green

Being eco-friendly is becoming more popular. The green initiative is a cultural and environmental phenomenon that is helping save the earth by using earth-friendly products such as organic cotton, bamboo, flax and hemp, some examples of biodegradable products. The consumption of eco-friendly food such as those that are organically grown encourage the use of a production process that do not use pesticides that can harm your health or the planet's health. Below are some examples on how to appreciate Mother Earth by eating, wearing and living green!

*Replace lightbulbs with CFL lights as they are more energy efficient and lasts longer than regular lightbulbs
*Use eco-friendly canvas shopping bags (plastic bags take 1,000 years to decompose and paper bags kills 14 million trees a year)
*Buy local produce
*Recycle cans, bottles, and paper products
*Eat organically grown food, less meat and wild fish (rather than farm-raised fish)
*Use natural cleaning products than chemical cleaners
*Pay bills online and reduce paper mail bulk
*Buy recycled products
*Use reusable water bottle instead of buying water bottle
*Save water (take shorter showers, use low-flow showerheads, water plants in the evening, etc)
*Plant a tree
*Celebrate Earth Day!
